which is more appealing for a cartilage piercing‚ small gold hoop or diamond stud?

Jus got my second one cause I let my first one close. Its a bit lower and looks better this time around. I love studs ans wear two studs on my lobes. For the cartilage I see studs that look good and hoops. A girl at work has like four little hoops and they look nice. Soooo what grabs attention a diamond stud or a small gold hoop?

Cartilage piercing is not my favorite to see. However, I would prefer a diamond stud if I had to choose.

How to buy diamond stud earrings

Diamond Stud Earrings are a pair of single diamonds set into simple post settings. They are simple and elegant earrings that are an important part of a woman’s jewelry wardrobe. While diamonds studs larger than two carat total weight may be worn for special occasions, most women wear their diamond studs every day. They provide dazzling sparkle that draws attention to a woman’s face, without overwhelming even the most casual of outfits.

The first thing you need to do when buying a pair of diamond studs is to set your budget. Finding the right studs for you is a balancing act, so you need the frame of reference a budget can give you. Diamond studs are easy to find in a wide range of price points, from $50 to $50,000. Of course, the larger the diamonds are, the more expensive a pair of studs is, but that is only part of the equation. The four C’s- carat weight, clarity, color and cut- impact the price of a pair of diamond studs.

Since diamond stud earrings are worn right next to a woman’s face, quality matters. A smaller, good quality pair of studs that have a lot of fire and brilliance will compliment a woman much better than a large, but dull and dingy, pair of studs. Go for the best quality you can afford- you can always trade up to a larger pair later.

Carat is a measurement of weight, not size, so you may see a size difference between studs of the same carat weight. A well proportioned ¾ carat total weight pair of studs may look just as large to the eye as a poorly proportioned one carat pair, so look at pairs in a variety of sizes.

Of course everyone wants the largest size studs they can get for the money, but how white the diamonds are, or their color, makes a difference in the overall brightness of the earrings. You may be able to sacrifice on the color slightly if the studs are set in yellow gold, but if you want them set in white gold or platinum, they need to be near colorless or better.

Clarity is a factor as well. While you don’t need perfect flawless diamonds, you do want ones that do not have visible flaws in them to distract from the look of the earrings. Remember that they will be sitting at eye level, so diamond studs get more close attention then a diamond pendant and large obvious flaws will be noticed.

The most important factor in selecting diamond studs is cut. The primary job of diamond studs is to sparkle. If they are not well cut to maximize the natural brilliance and fire of the diamonds, then they will not do their job. You also need to make sure that the two diamonds used in the pair are similarly cut and match each other in size and brilliance.

Finally, decide what kind of setting you want, including the choice of metal. Smaller studs can be set in either gold or platinum with push-on backs. For larger studs, upgrading to platinum settings with screw-on backs provides better protection for your investment. Take wear and tear into account when choosing setting types- a woman who is rougher on her jewelry or looses earrings may need the added strength and security of 4-prong platinum and/or screw-on backs no matter what the size of the earrings.
