Is it true that magnetic clasps don't work very well?

I am a newbie and I am still trying to figure out how to put my friends' Moms-bracelets together. I thought it would be simple for my friends to have magnetic clasps and that way they would be easier to get on than a lobster clasp. I have another friend who advised against it saying that they are not very secure and knows someone who lost a bracelet because it came apart ( the magnetic clasp) Your thoughts?
I wasn't asking about other clasps.....ring and bar?..that's called a toggle
Anyone with jewelery making experience?

As an experienced beader, I am reluctant to trust the magnetic clasps. I honestly haven't known anyone who's had trouble with them, or anyone who really likes them. However, for something as likely to get caught on things as a bracelet, I would recommend a sturdier clasp. I mean, you don't want all your hard work to get lost on the street because of the clasp, do you?
I find the toggle clasp to be the best for bracelets--it holds securely, but is easy to work with one hand. There are also a variety of other clasps that you can work with one hand. One common one is a kind of fish hook clasp. It has a decorative casing and a bit of wire slides into it and catches on a peg inside. Both of these clasps are widely available, and, if I'm not mistaken, slightly cheaper than the magnetic clasps.
