Woolworths has issued a trading update mid-year, showing group sales down 3.1 percent.
Group sales for the 25 weeks to 26 July 2008 decreased 3.1%. Sales in Woolworths Retail for the 25 weeks were down 3.2%. Since the last update of the market by Woolworths to less like-for-like sales for the six weeks to 26 July have fallen by 6.7%.
