Will this be a nice xmas pressie for my mum?
My mum loves jewelry and has said that if she had her life over again she would have trained to be a jewelry designer. She said for xmas for me to get her some marks and spencer jewelry (i am a student and on a budget). I went into M&S and saw nothing that struck me. So i was looking on Ebay and haved ended up buying a few different loose gem stones. Including an orange sapphire (0.88ct), 5 white topazes (small ones) and some garnets. I am also bidding on a big citrine and a green amythyst.
My idea is to get her a sketch pad and some pencils and giver her the stone and say for her to design her own ring or pendant and then for her birthday or for mothers day i will get it made for her.
I haven't spent that much on them but they are all bought off power sellers so i hoping they will be good.
Lol - i'm giving her the gem stones for xmas too.
This is a truly fabulous idea. How thoughtful you are. Your Mum's face will just light up when she opens the box and all these lovely stones sparkle up at her. My daughter is a jewellery designer and I LOVE rooting about among the stones. And occasionally, I see a piece I really like and it comes my way. So you could be starting Mum on a brand new career. I defy anyone not to like loose stones.
