Stones I was given for my 21st?

I was given 2 AMAZING topaz stones from my grandmother for my 21st birthday, the clarity of them is incredible, and they are a very very very pale blue, virtually clear..would it be wrong to use these in an engagement ring? or does it have to be diamonds (traditionallY)??

Not at all. You can use any type of stone you like and it is becoming quite popular to use stones besides diamonds. If you love those topaz stones use them.
